List of Calgary Agencies that Offer Free Short-Term Counselling

  • Eastside Family Centre: offers free/short-term single session therapy. To book/inquire call 403-299-9699. This service also provides support in multiple languages.

  • Distress Centre: offers free crisis counselling. To book/inquire call 403-266-4357 or visit www.distresscentre.com/need-help/counselling

  • Primary Care Network South Calgary: now offering free single session therapy over the phone for individuals of all ages. To book/inquire about sessions available call 403-668-8600

  • Calgary Community Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA): offers free counselling for individuals impacted by sexual abuse, harassment and violence. To book/inquire call 403-237-5888. *It is our understanding that CCASA can offer longer-term support but for this individuals may need to call the agency to confirm.

  • The Psychologists's Association of Alberta Disaster Response Network: offers 1-3 free sessions with registered psychologists or provisionals. To book/inquire email paa@paa-ab.ca or call 1-888-424-0297

  • Sunrise Native Addictions Services: offers free family counselling for families in recovery from various addictions. To book/inquire call 403-261-7921. *Individuals should inquire about session numbers that Sunrise offers.

  • PCHS: offers free, confidential and culturally aware counselling services in English, Punjabi, Hindi & Urdu for a variety of concerns. To book/inquire please call 587-999-9312 or email info@pchscalgary.com

  • TIES (The Immigrant Education Society): offers free counselling for individuals, couples and families. To book/inquire please visit their website at: https://www.tieshealthyminds.ca/counselling . Services in a variety of languages are also available. 

  • Calgary Immigrant Women's Association (CIWA): offers free counselling for immigrant women, youth, families and seniors in multiple languages. To book/inquire call 403-263-4414.

  • South Calgary Health Centre: This centre offers no-fee, single session, walk-in counselling. This is an urgent care facility for non-life threatening health issues and mental health care. Hours of Operation: 8 am â€“ 10 pm. Address: 31 Sunpark Plaza SE. Phone: 403-943-9300

  • Jewish Family Service Calgary: offers up to three sessions free of cost to anyone who is in need. To book/inquire call their support line at 403-287-3511 or email info@jfsc.org

  • Elements Calgary Mental Health Centre: To access services, individuals are required to fax/mail a completed referral form to the agency and be 18 years or older, â€‹have a diagnosed mental health disorder by a relevant health/mental health professional (i.e. family doctor, psychologist) and should not be receiving PDD funding or programs.
